SUMMARY: Support a safe facility and production by keeping materials stored safely and supplies in stock and ready to use when needed. Job responsibilities include, but not limited to: load, unload and move materials to and from work centers and/or staging locations.
WAGE TYPE: Hourly Non-Exempt
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Complete appropriate and necessary paperwork to ensure materials are checked in, unloaded and accounted for
- Ensure production areas are kept in stock with the proper materials
- Safely operate a fork truck to lift, move and deliver supplies and materials to the appropriate area on time
- Identify damages to products and equipment
- Assist with other production needs as needed
- Follow all safety protocol and wear all required PPE
- Report shortages, safety concerns and any quality deficiencies
- Transport raw material to production workstations and keep production floor organized
ORGANIZATIONAL STRUCTURE:
- Reports to: Shift Supervisor
QUALIFICATIONS: The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill and/or ability required. Equivalent combinations of education and experience may be substituted for the expected levels of education and experience required.
Education and/or Experience Expected:
- High School Diploma or G.E.D required
- Must pass ATEK Fork Truck Training to become a Certified Fork Truck Operator
- Must pass ATEK Material Handler Training to become a certified Material Handler
- Must pass ATEK Functional Job Analysis and Pre- Employment Drug Screen for Material Handler position
Preferred:
- Prior manufacturing experience is preferred
- National Career Readiness Certificate is preferred
- Sense of urgency to ensure production areas do not run out of materials
Communication Skills:
- Must be able to read, write and comprehend the English language
Working Conditions:
- Frequent exposure to foundry like environment (high heat, dust, etc.)
